Beginning in March 2024, the beginning lesson will be run through the Glen Echo Park Partnership for Arts and Culture (GEPPAC).  It will be a 5 week class of introductory dances with lots of review and repetition.  The first class will be in the Ballroom Backroom followed by classes in the Bumper Car Pavilion.  For more information, go to page 101 at

We will have intermediate and advanced teaching at 8, and request dancing from 8:30-10 pm.   Admission is still $10 (except for the Baba Marta party).  Anyone who registers for the class gets free admission for the entire evening.

Masks are optional.  We strongly urge all dancers to be vaccinated and receive the most recent boosters, but do not require them.  Note: As circumstances change, we may revise these policies.

Note: if you are having symptoms, or if you have been in close contact with someone who has tested positive, or may be positive, please attend the class via Zoom for the next week or 2.  If you attend the class and then test positive, please let me know immediately, so I can inform those who attended the class (without identifying you).

For out-of-towners and those who cannot attend in person, we will try to show the intermediate/advanced class and request period via Zoom.   The beginner class is in-person (no Zoom). You can enter by clicking onto the following link

The Glen Echo Folk Dancers have been dancing since 1983; first at St. Mary’s Episcopal Church in Foggy Bottom; then the Church of the Redeemer in Bannockburn, MD; and, since  January 2020, Glen Echo Park. In all these years we have maintained a very welcoming atmosphere, lots of great music and dancing, occasional parties (sometimes with live music), and, most importantly, great people to share an evening with. Plan to have a wonderful time, learn some dances, listen to some wild music, and meet some new friends. No partner or skill is necessary. Dress comfortably. Smile. If you would like to be added to our email list and receive notices of upcoming events, please email Jamie

The Glen Echo International Folk Dancers are produced by Dancing Planet Productions  and co-sponsored by the Folklore Society of Greater Washington and the World Music and Dance Institute.

Admission $10
